Uniform Policy

Uniform POLICY

All children are asked to wear school uniform. The colour of each item of clothing is important.  Uniform can be purchased from:

Telephone:  01992 587466

or online at www.kidsconnection.co.uk            email: store@kidsconnection.co.uk

or from any shop selling school uniform e.g. Tescos, Sainsbury's, Marks and Spencer etc.

Winter option

  • White polo shirt or blouse
  • Grey socks
  • Grey or red tights
  • Grey trousers (or jogging bottoms)
  • Grey skirt or pinafore
  • Red sweatshirt or cardigan

Summer Option

  • Grey shorts
  • Red and white checked dress
  • White socks

Children can wear either branded or non-branded items.  The PTA regularly offers opportunities to collect second hand uniform.

There is no specified timeline for winter or summer options as weather can be changeable.

Games and PE Clothing

All children, except those in nursery, wear PE kit to school on PE days.
Indoor work is performed in a minimum of clothing and with bare feet unless a child has a foot complaint.

  • White T Shirt
  • Red shorts
  • Red hooded tracksuit tops and black bottoms

All children require trainers for games. In the winter children should wear school tracksuits during games lessons.

It is essential that all your child’s clothing is marked with his or her name to avoid confusion and loss

Hairbands

All pupils with hair long enough to be tied back, must do so.  Half up, half down hair styles are acceptable to remove hair from the face.  For PE, we advise hair to be fully tied back.   Please ensure that hairbands are simple and are red, red/white check or black in colour.  No large bows or big clips should be worn.

Footwear and Headwear

It is impossible to keep the carpeted areas fresh and clean for children to sit on if outdoor shoes are worn indoors. A change of footwear is therefore necessary e.g. trainers for outside and school shoes for inside.  We ask children not to wear slippers indoors or shoes without backs such as crocs.

Baseball caps and other headwear are allowed outside in the playground to protect children from sun and cold. These must not be worn indoors.

Jewellery and Watches

Watches may be worn by children but we cannot accept responsibility if they are misplaced or broken. If your child has a smartwatch, please check with the class teacher first as there is separate guidance relating to these.  We ask children not to wear jewellery. Earrings may not be worn during physical activity.  LA health and safety guidance states that no jewellery should be worn during P.E. or games.  Earrings must be removed at home on the morning of PE days.  Children are not allowed to remove them at school.

Equipment

Children must have a book bag to keep school reading and library books clean.  Children should also have a clear, plastic water bottle with water only  for drinking throughout the day.   These bottles should have a sports cap or flip top.  Please do not put the water bottle in the book bag.
